Digital Advertising integrated self service kiosks

Self Service Kiosk Terminals can take many shapes and sizes,  are designed to entice users to interact in all kinds of mannerisms whether for purpose of providing information, vending, payment, directional way finding, providing health statistics, ordering, retail check out the list expands each year as new concepts launch but one primary factor that we see more and more is the importance of adverstising digital monitors that are integrated above or on sides of enclosures.

At KT (www.kioskterminals.eu) our designers have worked on hundrends of projects all requiring addittional monitors of all varying sizes, the above image of a ref model we designed for a UK client we labelled X10 had in fact 10 monitors of which 6 were purely for purpose of advertising displays.

More basic versions as the one above shown labelled Aura could purely be a touch monitor with a slightly larger monitor above providing information on services the kiosk itself offer in this case for cinema ticketing dispensing.  It can for example display movies being shown or coming,  short promo clips of the movies at cinema and special offers on tickets or snacks. But there are also those as shown below
which are designed for outdoor public use, in this case at bus stops that provide a touch monitor for user to source relevant information on his journey and the main monitor displaying advertising which are managed by large outdoor firms such as JCDecaux, ClearChannel, Capital as some examples that manage brand elites of retail worlds advertising forey into public space ads.

Other versions can include health kiosks such as KT model i5,  being currently deployed in the Middle East in pharmacies and hospitals have simple advertising monitors installed that display latest pharmaceutical products that big brand medical companies wish to promote while the terminal itself provides vital health stats to consumers instore or in waiting rooms in hospitals.

In fact according to sources at pqmedia revenues in 2012 were at $7.88 billion for advertising out of home a label they call DOOH.  Now that may not seem a high figure but if you cast yourselves back to turn of century their was very literally no digital signage advertising in market so in past 12 years to grow from a nurturing business to a multi billion dollar industry shows immense growth and the markets are expanding by each year as is deployment of self service kiosks.

Model Spotlight VFS Cost Effective Kiosk

KT Group specializes in design, engineering, manufacturing of custom payment kiosk terminals that can be utilized for host of different concepts but one primary key is the vend of a product that requires a machine to accept payment.

Back in 2011 a new customer based in Vietnam contacted us for exactly this purpose that it was searching for a vendor that could supply a payment kiosk terminal that could accept bill cash notes and vend a ticket which on it would allow the consumer to enact a transaction to top up their mobile prepaid time subscription with the local mobile telecommunications providers such as Viettel Mobile, Mobifone, Vinaphone, Vietnamobile, Gmobile.   The management was very clear in its instructions of what they were searching for from a vendor that at KT management we appreciate in that they gave us some specific targets.  We could list them as

1. A terminal that could be purchased for $1500 dollars complete
2. A terminal manufactured with security to protect the cash stored inside
3. A terminal that was easy to service in the field by the clients own service technicians
4. A terminal that due to volume was able to effectively be manufactured efficiently as they were after a company with ability to mass manufactured 100 plus per order
5. A terminal that could be branded so it was distinguished in retail outlets

The challenge was set quite high,   with each point we had to think through our process but points 2 through 5 were relatively simple but on point 1 it was a massive challenge as any veteran familiar to self service kiosk manufacturing is aware the budget even when producing 100 machines per order is not much while still turning a profit which any business must.

Our design and engineering team worked collectively to tackle our customer Paylink wishes and we finally evolved the model we called The VFS.  First renderings below were submitted for approval together with a indicated price.

http://vietnamnews.vn/economy/243356/paylink-payment-machines-installed-in-phu-my-hung.html

Their did not go much time in between submission and we received the response,  the reply received was please immediately come to Ho Chi Minh City for further discussion, and a flight was booked for our then Managing Director and as well our Manufacturing Director to Vietnam, we met with the three Directors of Paylink and after a long lunch a contract was signed to begin production.

Production of the sample began and shortly afterwards the units were inspected at KT Group manufacturing facility in Shenzhen by then Technical Director and was approved on site that same day and an order of first 100 machines were enacted.

The VFS was borne like so many other of #KTKiosks from a demand and that proved a very profitable terminal for the company over next few years were several other customers of KT.

The overall reaction is of VFS model it is simplistic in design which is why from production scale it can be more cost efficient than many of KT Groups other payment kiosk terminals,  but it has ability to combine several salient features that are commonly requested, whether it is coin systems, bar code scanners or advertising monitors.

Cinema Ticketing Kiosks

As several of our customers are already aware KT distinguishes itself with its unique designs that we develop in cohesion with our customers wishes and demands,  one such project we worked on back in 2010 was for Nordisk Film who are largest chain of cinemas in the Scandinavian countries.

The enclosure that the client preferred to establish a base for design was based on our model Simplicity Kiosk that was originally designed by an award winning designer Jerry Schweikart, the units came equipped with full cashless card payment solution and ticket dispensing printer and in all 65 of the cinema ticketing machines we ordered by the customer.

Original design by Jerry Schweikart

What happens with allot of our kiosk machines once we ship them from our production facility in Shenzhen is that they go out in the field and then we no longer here about those machines ever again unless of course their is a fault which requires KT Group to assist in warranty RMA procedure.

In this case our partner House Of IT who are sadly no longer a business in operation as they went into liquidation in 2015 had in fact received so much commendation from their customer that they sent us a letter of recommendation.

Now lets fast forward to April 2015 so five years have passed and i am out on a family vacation back visiting my country of origin Denmark,  my family and I decided we wanted to go and see a movie we ended up at one of the cinemas owned by Nordisk Film near Copenhgaen and as I walk into the cinema I noticed immediately the shiny looking units that my company manufactured back then. I literally turned around to the family and pointed out that it was those that our company manufactured 5 years ago and hey as we had not heard anything in that time i gathered that the units we still active and proof was shown yesterday evening as i gladly purchased 3 tickets with my creditcard on one of the units and walked away with tickets and a receipt.  Just goes to show that KT kiosks are well manufactured terminals that are designed for longevity and components hand picked for their excellent craftmanship.

kioskterminals.eu new site

The last few months has been a tremendously busy period for KT with new projects underway as we started into 2015 we have quietly been working on wanting to relaunch the companies website simply because the old site was not representative of the growth and product development the company has focused on in self service kiosk terminal design.
The old site in fact dates back to 2009 and thus it had to be refreshed so much has changed in KT Group,   we have expanded in human resources with 10 compared to 4 back in 09,  we have moved into new offices in 2012 in Shenzhen China and most importantly the company has steered its path into focus of custom kiosk terminal manufacturing with a heavy emphasis on self service kiosk payments.
The site now has a full up to date listing of the latest designs,  we have produced a full new range of betting terminals or also known as FOBT (Fixed Offline Betting Terminals) which include models like Beast, Whizz, Evoque and Apollo a selection that offers basic functionality with additional expertise to customize that KT are specialists in.  The success in past 24 months working on projects for likes of NCR and Betfirst were important milestones as we were able to demonstrate not only by what the company already knew itself but physically as well that we could muster enough know how and knowledgeable expertise in our staff to be able to effectively manufacturer large production volume manufacturing for first time in 2014 we undertook single production runs of 250, 351 unit orders which we could deliver on timely manner to international corporate clients that expect such service. Some of these we have updated into our newest section of Case Studies page,  we are proud to be associated to partners and customers that extended us their trust that they showed us when orders were physically confirmed.
We are still currently working on some additional new features for the site,  one feature launched today was our kioskterminals blogger site having been integrated into corporate site the blog will focus on KT Group in news, product launches, new custom designs and also newsworthy stories from world medias relating to self service kiosk markets.   We recommend for visitors to return regularly to the site to keep up to date and check out the latest updates to the site over next few months.
