Custom Medical Kiosk Case

KT Group has for several years focussed on providing a service for clients interested in developing a terminal that is designed to suit the concept,  a reference case of ours that successful launch 18 months ago in conjunction with an established Middle Eastern pharmaceutical distributor KT pitched its design services,  engineering ability combined with resources that allow us to manufacture high volume orders via our metal production plant to jointly with the clients vision to prepare a medical kiosk that although simple in functionality can provide basic elements to a medical kiosk.
The model now referenced as i5 primary services are to provide precise weight readings in kilos, measure the height of the individual, and if user decides they also want to receive blood pressure and fat content accurate readings the premium upgrade allows for this as well.  The unit was built to be used within a pharmacy or hospital environment,  many users may not be educated in interacting with a touchscreen based operation due to lack of knowledge, experience or age so the terminal is operated by a simple button operation that provides simple easy to use steps for each service machine can deliver and the locations are able to use the additional informational digital monitor to run messages including multimedia and audio files on the screen that can inform passers-by of services the terminal offers at a quick glance a final request from our customer was to provide a traditional print post area that KT designed into main cabinet and we added LED lighting to brighten up poster frame.
The solution is now already expanded with first 270 terminals installed in specific client locations in Middle East, and customers’ expectations for forthcoming 12 months is to increase the number by doubling its numbers due to popularity in use that as customer explains is due to KT experience in providing a design that encompasses all requirements in a design that can entice the user to terminal to trial it.

Investing Product Design

As with any business trying to get ahead in the market, or showcase a company to prospective new clients, investors or even media, we strive to raise the stakes with our intuitive product design, here at KT Group.

Being that the market for self-service kiosks is aggressively competitive to win new business and also to retain customers, it’s vital that the commercial enterprise showcases relevant products to its prospective buyers. But, to win new business, this entails grabbing the buyers’ attention and we all know from the likes of Apple, Mercedes and Gucci (to name a few), how much product development and design has pushed these brands to the pinnacle of market success. A measure of this can be a quick visit to the markets of China and Turkey, where we see fakes and copies by the dozen, but nothing replaces an original, and successful enterprises know their worth. They demand their designers bring new innovation each year, and here at KT Group it’s no different.

Since the early days, back in 2005, its owner and acting CEO began one of his core beliefs, which was that KT had to shape itself into an innovator in product design. In 11 years, the company has focussed on the manufacture of self-service kiosks and terminals and we have collated over 100 new concepts and ideas that lie at heart of the company product line.   New ideas for shapes, innovations in design and, ultimately, new physical product launches such as the Beast and Whizz terminals, come from studying everyday architecture; taking ideas from structures of all kinds and using them to form physically user friendly terminals and, just as importantly, easy to access machine component integration for serviceability, not much different than how the automotive industry experts influence new cars each year with new shapes and technology.

Our growth to date certainly is directly influenced by our product designs that we launch each year, and notably some of the designs have had an enormous impact to our growth. One model that saw KT launch itself, a few years ago, into the sports betting industry was the Beast. It first launched at ICETECH Totally Gaming back in 2013, and since then we have sold well over 1500 of these, to several sports betting brands in Europe and Africa, and our clients themselves have seen profits grow as product designs, such as Beast, entice players to approach the terminal.

Terminals are, in short, a box of some sorts, but a box doesn’t necessarily have to be four-cornered and be made from one type of material. With an abundance of new material innovations within manufacturing and sourcing, the expansion of more interesting designs will increase as long as companies like KT Group are willing to invest its resources into producing box ideas into smarter design terminal technology.

Self Service Print Kiosks

Nowadays it is both green environment issues and fashionable that our technology sectors are moving away from use of paper but unlike other tech savvy industries the self-service kiosk industry still has a large requirement for printing paper from a self-service solution in an array of sizes.

Large format printers
We have today three means to offer a large format print solution in size of A4 which is either by ink, laser or thermos heat transfer print solutions.  The latter two are definitively the most popular as they are both quickest to complete print task when ordered and speed of print is very important in field of self-service printing.

Digital Photo printers
Kiosks have been sinuous with photo printers since the first dry lab dye sublimation printers launched on market. Industrial giants such as Kodak, Fuji have launched ten of thousands of these into retail space globally and KT Group launched its OEM version the K4.

Receipt printers
Receipts have been synonymous since launch of very first cash registers into retailers stores,  and there are certainly no stranger in a standard configuration of payment kiosks and ATM,  KT Group has a broad spectrum of payment kiosk designs such as APP, AMA and CUSB1 available all equipped with receipt printers.

Betting printers
Betting requires in most setups a print of receipt as well as a paper copy of the physical bet placed on a betting terminal,  KT Group range of betting terminals such as Beast, Whizz and Apollo all come equipped with a receipt printer.

Health printers
Health kiosks that have seen recent exponential growth in numbers in self-service kiosks for medical and health purposes on most occasions come with a form of print function that allows patients and medical staff to print out diagnosis, prescriptions or analysis’s of medical reports.  KT Group recently launched a health kiosk that prints out results for blood pressure, fat content, height and weight measurements.

Printer company
There are several large established printer manufacturers who specialise in area of kiosk printing,  such brands as Citizen, EPSON being most likely some of the largest but notable others include Zebra, SNBC, Custom engineering are all very popular brands for kiosk deployment.
